Vikings 53 - Intro

Since 2009 I have followed the Vikings as a fan and since then I've lived through:

The waffling on retiring by none other than Brett Favre. The departure of our injury prone but best statistical wide receiver in Sydney Rice to the Seahawks. The actual day Brett Favre retired.

The agony of the Ponder selection when Andy Dalton was selected in the 2nd round and Ponder was projected to go there but we reached and missed out on better players. Who you ask? Nick Fairley, Robert Quinn, Mike Pouncey and Cameron Jordan.

The excitement during one of, if not the greatest rushing season by any RB. Unfortunately Adrian Peterson's legendary season was stifled by Ponder and ironically a Ponder injury before the playoffs.

The trading away and ultimately the fleecing of the Seahawks, for one of my favorite players, Percy Harvin who never could stay healthy and was becoming a distraction in Minnesota. In return we Vikings fan have had the pleasure of seeing the Rhodes closed in US Bank Stadium and the Jet take off when the coaches utilize him correctly.

The relief of drafting of Teddy Bridgewater at the end of the 1st round in 2014 instead of the disaster called Johnny Manziel after we had passed on a QB at pick no.9. He would be the 2nd player drafted due to physical traits being less than desirable after Shariff Floyd, before Treadwell and Cook.

The dismay of seeing APs child on the news for abuse, the Teddy Bridgewater injury which crushed the souls of Vikings fans after seeing the promise of an 11-5 season, the Bradford trade for our 2017 1st round pick (Derek Barnett) and 2018 fourth round pick, AP's injury and release, Teddy's return and progress in rehab and now the chance to not only host the Superbowl but to be a contender to play in the Superbowl.

As a Vikings fan it truly has been an up and down experience but I wouldnt trade it for any other team because this team has the right mentality, a winning mentality, grit, hustle, and a focus on the fundamentals. That old school defense wins championships mentality and I love that about our team.

This blog will be a breakdown of each player, their progress, their increase or decrease in snaps during the season and their overall ranking on the 53 man roster. And with that, let's get started.
